Our Church Commitments
-
We endeavor to keep God at the center of all we do. This means that He is the focus of all of our preaching and teaching and worship – of every aspect of our church’s life. This God-centered focus is in keeping with the Bible’s teaching that everything should be done to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31) and in contrast to the more man-centered focus of many other ministries.

We believe that, when we gather together on Sundays, we need to hear from God, not just from some man. God speaks to us through His Word as it is preached faithfully. Therefore, preaching is the highlight of our services, and we do all we can to ensure that our preaching is straight from the Bible. We also believe that we need to hear from the whole Bible (Acts 20:27).

Just as there are many churches out there, so each church seems to have its own philosophy and “style” of worship. Because of our commitment to keeping God and His Word central, we believe that we should worship God as He has commanded us (Deut. 12:32): we should seek what pleases Him. We also believe that an attitude of joyful reverence is most fitting for the worship of such a great God (Psa. 2:11; Heb. 12:28)

Genuine Christian community is vital to a healthy Christian life: we need the accountability and encouragement of our fellow believers (1 Cor. 12:12). It’s far too easy in too many churches just to get “lost in the crowd.” We at Christ Church try to foster an atmosphere of mutual love and support among our members through bimonthly church meals along with regular opportunities for extra fellowship.
